SecOps at your Service

This cartoon was inspired by a war story a friend experienced. Instances like this are typically caused when one team is only concerned with the needs of their silo with no regard to the needs of the other silo. In this instance, the SecOps team needed the Platform team to bend a policy in order to allow them to use their tool which used an unapproved port. By bending the rule, the Platform team got dinged for having an unapproved port open. 
The real issue was that the SecOps team did not follow policy while evaluating products and picked one that violated their own policy. The irony is not lost on the Platform team.
