Evolution of Ops is in the Eye of the Beholder

As technology changes, approaches to operations have changed with it. In my opinion, we are in the golden age of operations. Adoption of a DevOps mindset, coupled with approaches like SRE and technologies like AI/ML have really changed how we run our services.
Unfortunately, many enterprises adopt these concepts by name only and not by the principles. Too many ops initiatives are simply a rebranding of the same old ops teams. Nothing really changes except the names and the LinkedIn profiles
This cartoon mocks those who embrace new terms and tools, but remain in silos blocking the progress of those who deliver software. In the eye of the beholder, I show how these rebranded ops folks see themselves and their roles while the dev folks still struggle to get things approved.
